Prof. Tomasz Stadejek ukończył studia na Wydziale Medycyny Weterynaryjnej Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Lublinie w 1990 roku. W latach 1991- 2011 był pracownikiem Zakładu Chorób Świń w Państwowym Instytucie Weterynaryjnym w Puławach. W 2012 roku objął stanowisko profesora zwyczajnego na Wydziale Medycyny Weterynaryjnej w Szkole Głównej Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego.



W 1996 roku uzyskał tytuł doktora nauk weterynaryjnych, a w 2002 doktora habilitowanego. W 2007 roku Prof. Stadejek został nominowany przez Światową Organizację Zdrowia Zwierząt (O.I.E.) do pełnienia funkcji eksperta w zakresie PRRSV. Jest członkiem Grupy Badawczej Arteriwirusów w Międzynarodowym Komitecie Taksonomii Wirusów. Jest także posiadaczem dyplomu European College for Porcine Health Management, gdzie w latach 2009-2012 pełnił funkcję sekretarza. W jego głównym obszarze zainteresowań leżą diagnostyka, epidemiologia i kontrola chorób wirusowych świń.
