The academic year 2015/16 has been inaugurated at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. This year the university will celebrate the 200th anniversary of agricultural education in Poland. Next May it will have been 200 years since the establishment of the Institute of Agronomy in Marymont, from which the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is derived. In the new academic year, 25,000 students will begin their studies, among them nearly 8 thousand freshmen.

The Warsaw University of Life Sciences has received for the sixth time the title of the "Most innovative and creative university in generating job prospects" and the certificate "Good University, Good Job". In the competition organized by the Academic Information Centre from Poznan, universities were assessed for projects that are conducted and for activities increasing the chances of the graduates at the difficult job market.

The Warsaw University of Life Sciences has been awarded with the Laurel statuette which is the AgroPartner Distinction of the 25 years. The award was received by the Rector of the WULS-SGGW, Prof. dr hab. Alojzy Szynański from the Minister of Economy, Prof. Janusz Piechociński.
The 66th Congress of the European Federation of Animal Science will take place from 31 August to 4 September 2015, as part of the 200th anniversary celebration of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences on the campus of WULS-SGGW. The Congress is organized under the patronage of the Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Polish Society of Animal Production is the organizer - it will be the third time in its history when they organize the EEAP Congress - previous ones took place in 1975 and 1998. The Faculty of Animal Sciences of WULS-SGGW and the National Animal Breeding Centre were the coorganizers.
At WULS-SGGW two international conferences were held at the same time on 13 - 15 November 2014. The annual conference of the universities belonging to the EuroLeague for Life Sciences (ELLS) took place on 13 - 14.11. 2014. And on 14 and 15 November 2014 - Student Scientific Conference ELLS.
The ceremony of awarding the honorary doctorate of WULS-SGGW to Professor Karol Maramorosch, Ph.D., a prominent researcher in the field of virology, entomology and phytopathology, as well as the ceremony of granting habilitation and diplomas took place in the Crystal Hall of WULS-SGGW.
The Director of the Department of intelligent systems at the Faculty of Applied Informatics and Mathematics won the award for technical sciences.
Two international conferences will be held parallelly on -14-15 November 2014 at Warsaw University of Life Sciences: the annual EuroLeague for Life Sciences (ELLS) Conference and the Student ELLS Conference.
