The University has over 100 years of tradition in conducting the research and didactics. As amended by decree, the University obtained the status of national university in 2011. The mission of the University is to become a leading center for research and education in the region of Eurasia. L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University has 12 technical, environmental, economic and humanistic faculties.
Cooperation between the two universities is planned to start mainly on issues related to civil engineering. Cooperation will include :
• student exchange at the level of bachelor and master studies in the field of didactics and research,
• academic staff exchange in the field of conducting lectures and supervising research,
• conducting joint research with the use of equipment from Water Centre SGGW and joint publications in high-rated journals and international conferences,
• joint seminars with the participation of Polish Kazakh.
On the 3rd of October 2013 the vice rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University – professor Askar Zhussupbekov gave a lecture on ‘Megaprojects on Problematical Soils in Kazakhstan’ at the inauguration of the academic year at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
