Erasmus Mundus: EUPHRATES project - mobility call is open! Apply now!

The 3rd Call for the Erasmus Mundus EUPHRATES Programme is already launched! The call for candidates for academic year 2016/2017 is open till 21st January 2016.

Euphrates is an Erasmus Mundus Partnership (Action 2 Strand 1) Project funded by the European Commission and coordinated by the University Santiago de Compostela, Spain with the aim to interlink European and Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and associate partners to jointly foster mutual cooperation through the exchange of students and staff, knowledge and skills.

Who can apply?

The project involves mobility from India to Europe. Students and staff are divided into 3 Target Groups (TG). Please check the eligibility criteria here

Types of mobility:

  • Undergraduate: 6 and 10 months
  • Master: 6 and 10 months
  • Doctorate: 10  months
  • Post-Doctorate: 6 months
  • Academic Staff: 1 month (teaching, practical training and research)

Fields of study available for this project: Agricultural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, Natural Sciences.

The scholarship covers: 

  • Travel costs
  • Heath insurance
  • Monthly subsitence:
    Undergraduates 1.000 €     
    Masters 1.000 €    
    Doctorates 1.500 €    
    Post-Doctorates 1.800 €    
    Teaching Staff 2.500 €

When to apply?

Academic year 2016/2017: call for applicants is open from 17 November 2015 till 21 January 2016.

Candidatures without all documentation will be declared ineligible.

The application requires following documents:

  • Application Form,
  • CV (Europass format)
  • Motivation letter
  • Recommendation letter(s)
  • Language proficiency certificate
  • Academic certificates (transcript of records, diplomas)
  • Research Proposal (PhD, Post-Doc)
  • Teaching Programme (Academic Staff)
  • Pre-admission letter (PhD, Post-Doc, Academic Staff) - a letter confirming scientific guidance at the potential host faculty/department
