The Rector at the European University Association Meeting

On the 25th of October, the Rector, Professor Alojzy Szymański took part in an Extraordinary General Assembly of EUA (European University Association) at the Mykolas Romeris University

The aim of the Meeting was to vote on statute amendments proposed at the EUA Meeting in Ghent in April 2013. The changes concerned i.a. extending the term of office of the EUA President from 3 to 4 years and setting the timetable of the elections. The voting was preceded by the EUA Council Meeting, which took place in connection with the Lithuanian Presidency in the EU. Professor Wiesław Banyś, the President of CRASP and Professor Andrzej Kraśniewski, the Secretary of CRASP took part in the Meeting. The Debate was chaired by the EUA President, Maria Helena Nazare.

European University Association (EUA) represents and supports institutions of higher education in 46 countries. 44 institutions of higher education – the CRASP members – belong to the association.

During the visit to Vilnus, the Rector A. Szymański got acquainted with the activity at Mykolas Romeris Univeristy and visited the Polish Rasos Cemetery.

Mykolas Romeris University is a relatively new (established in 2004), dynamically developing university. It educates over 20, 000 students in 18 programmes, i.a. in economics, business and management, finance, computer sciences, pedagogy and sociology. The University has a wide international cooperation and is a member of numerous international organizations. Professor Alvydas Pumputis is the Rector of the University.
