Professor Pierzgalski received the honourable title of Doctor Honoris Causa from Slovak University of Agriculture
Professor Edward Pierzgalski, a retired employee of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (former Dean of the Faculty and Vice-Rector of the Warsaw University of Agriculture) received the honorary doctorate of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.
We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Bishop Roman Andrzejewski Award Committee who had its sitting in Łowicz, under the honorary chairmanship of the Rev. Bishop Alojzy Orszulik, unanimously decided to grant the award for 2014 to Professor dr. hab. Alojzy Szymański, the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
Dr. Eng. Robert Popek from the Institute of Natural Basis of Horticulture is one of the three laureates who won the Baltic University Program PhD Thesis Award for the best doctoral thesis. The award is granted for the best doctoral thesis which was defended in the previous calendar year.
A new major programme of the European Commission to fund specifically mobility of European researchers to China has been launched on 4th of April. The objective of this programme called ‘EU-CHINA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP (ECRIP)' is to create, strengthen and intensify the EU-China Research & Innovation (RI) partnerships by supporting the mobility of EU researchers to China and strengthening people-to-people contacts, from both the public and private sectors, in strategic RI sectors.
In 2016 it will be 200 years since the Agronomic Institute in Marymont, the progenitor of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW started agricultural education in Poland. WULS-SGGW inaugurated the 200th anniversary celebrations with a solemn Ball, which took place on 1 March 2014 at the Crystal Hall of Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
