On October 2nd 2017, first meeting of the Orientation Week 2017 in the fall semester 2017/2018 was held for foreigners starting their studies at WULS-SGGW under the Erasmus+ Program. Students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation prof. dr hab. Michał Zasada together with the Head and staff of the International Relations Office. During this meeting important information concerning stay, accommodation and studies at WULS-SGGW as well as integration and building of environmentally friendly behavior were presented by Ms. Ewelina Belkiewicz and Ms. Małgorzata Szczęsna from IRO. Ms. Anna Popek, President of the ESN Student Erasmus Student Network, informed about forms of assistance provided to foreign students.
Among 124 students representing 29 countries, majority came from from Turkey (23), France (20), Spain (14), Italy (11), Germany (8), Romania (7) and the Netherlands (6). Non-European countries included Thailand, Taiwan, the United States, Egypt, Ghana, Nepal and Zambia. In the first week of the academic year 2017/2018, students participated in daily intercultural and integration workshops to get familiar with the academic community and to provide support needed when moving from one culture to another.
