Education stage: Master engineer of chemistry, Doctor of forestry sciences.



Researches: classical (gravimetric) and chromatographic analysis of wood components, pulp and polymers, antioxidants and UV stabilizers. Application of liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion exchange chromatography (IEC), size exclusion chromatography (SEC). Spectrophotometric analysis of lignin content. Study of polymer degradation by SEC and viscometric technique. Study of hydrolysis process (acid and enzymatic) of wood and it's polysaccharides. HPLC analysis of hydrolysates from wood. Study of fermentation process in order to ethanol production from wood hydrolysates. Chromatographic analysis of fermentation mixture. Ethanol from biomass - biofuel technology development, including enzymatic wood saccharification (hydrolysis) and fermentation.
